Third request to the President and FAS to meet with Dr. Swamy
December 20, 2011

To: Dr. Drew Faust, the President
Harvard University

Dr. Michael Smith, Dean
Harvard University

Dear Dr. Drew:

This is the third request we are making to Harvard to invite Dr. Subramanian Swamy for open, honest, candid, insightful, objective, and academic discussion and dialogue on the article “How to wipe out Islamic Terror.”  Since FAS members have criticized him for his view, it is only fitting for Harvard to invite Dr. Swamy to challenge him and question him with regard to his statement that fanatic Muslims consider the Hindu dominated as “an unfinished chapter of Islamic conquest,” and his argument that they “proudly acknowledge that their ancestors are Hindus.” It is unfortunate that the members of FAS have denied Dr. Swamy the opportunity to express his views thus denying the freedom of speech, the most sacred principle of democracy.  In the name of their freedom of speech, faculty cannot refuse the freedom of speech for others. Let us remember the words of Nelson Mandela: “A man who takes away another man's freedom is a prisoner of hatred, he is locked behind bars of prejudice and narrow-mindedness. I am not truly free if I am taking away someone else's freedom, just as surely as I am not free when my freedom is taken from me. The oppressed and the oppressor alike are robbed of their humanity."(Long Walk to Freedom)

Harvard faculty members have criticized Dr. Swamy for asking the Muslims to accept their Hindu Heritage. Almost all the Muslims in India were forcefully converted, may be with very few exceptions, from their parent religion Hinduism. Dr. Swamy said, “If any Muslim acknowledges his or her Hindu legacy, then we Hindus can accept him or her as a part of the Brihad Hindu Samaj (greater Hindu society) which is Hindustan.” Dr. Swamy believes that this kind of acceptance of their heritage will go a long way to create harmony not “hate”, sense of pride not “incitement”, benevolence not “viciousness”, delight not “destruction”, responsible not “reprehensible”, and privileged citizenship not “disfranchisement.”

How many of the Harvard faculty members would openly deny their ancestral lineage? The research shows that an overwhelming majority of the people take pride in their ancestral lineage, they go back to their ancestral places where they came from to trace their roots, and reestablish their connectivity to their culture and religion. That is the natural tendency of any human being to find out his own roots and find out his own existence. Do we think that any African American would deny that his ancestors were Africans or will any European-American deny that his ancestors were Europeans? Would Chinese Americans deny their ancestry? Would Italian American deny their Italian roots? Irish Catholics deny their Irish lineage? No, they take pride in their history. But Islam would not accept their Hindu lineage for reasons of their religion, not for reasons of rationality. Nobel laureate V S Naipaul “Islam has had a calamitous effect on converted peoples. To be converted you have to destroy your past, destroy your history. You have to stamp on it, you have to say ‘my ancestral culture does not exist, it does not matter’….” This is exactly what the Muslims in India are doing.

Why would Muslims deny their ancestral heritage? Why do they deny their Hindu roots? Any body who is familiar with 1400 years of Islamic expansion, any body who is willing to read about Islamic terrorism with open, objective, and academic mind or any body willing to visit India and see the destruction of as many as 2000 Hindu Temples would realize the mission of Islam is to subjugate the entire human race and conquer the world. The Muslims deny their roots and their heritage because the fanatic Muslims consider India as “unfinished business” and Jihadists are busy terrorizing the populace in the name of Islam.

Academicians have the moral obligations to conduct research on the rampant terrorism that is going on in India or at least open their eyes and minds to see and read the horrendous mass killings taking taking place across India. Academicians should not be influenced by the fleeting inducements or political ideology when making an academic decisions. They should not lock themselves in a certain political ideology, should not become prisoners for inducements, should not bolt their minds and should not shut their windows objectivity. It was amazing to read that not even a single rational, objective, independent faculty protested the faculty decision to remove the courses. Harvard faculty has become a dominant voice for the death of academic freedom and freedom of speech.

India is experiencing the horrific terrorism day in and day out for centuries. Islamic Terrorism is not a coincidence, aberration, accident or mishap. It is a willful, malicious, hateful, inciting, destructive, reprehensible, vicious, shameful act committing against Hindu dominated India to make it a Islamic nation. That is the reason Dr. Swamy said “Hindus cannot accept to be killed in this Halal fashion, continuously bleeding every day, till the nation finally collapses.”

Quran and many Islamic leaders openly declared war on infidels. As Ayatollah Khomeini stated: “Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all!     . . . Islam says: Kill in the service of Allah those who may want to kill you! . . . Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! . . . There are hundreds of other psalms [from the Koran] and Hadiths [sayings and acts of Muhammad] urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all that mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”

It means Islam says kill all the unbelievers such as Christians, Jews, Hinds, Buddhists, Jains, Parsees, Shinto and others. For centuries the Hindus were converted through coercion with the idea of spreading Islam and it continues to date. In 1947, Pakistan has 24% Hindus, today there are less than 1 percent Hindus. In Bangladesh, the Hindu population is dwindled from nearly 30 percent to less than 7 percent. Lo and behold, the Muslim population is multiplying day by day to make India a Muslim nation.  The percentage of Muslims in India has risen from about 8% in 1951 to 13.6% in 2001 and 14.6 % in 2010.

What position Harvard would take on the continued bleeding of India by Muslim who follow the “WORD” of Quran, that calls for killing of infidels? Is this what Islamic Studies teach? Would the Harvard deny the statements of Ayatollah Khomeini? What about the Islamic Studies? Have they been teaching about killing of infidels?

If Harvard still doubts about the extent of terrorism wrecking and bleeding Hindus, let us read what one of the distinguished faculty member of this great Harvard University, Dr. Robert Blackwell*, said about terrorism:
While I was preparing for my Senate confirmation hearing in early 2001 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I started to read regularly the Indian press. It was then that for the first time I encountered the devastating fact of terrorism against India. Sitting in my office at Harvard, I began to keep a daily count of those killed here by terrorists. Three on Monday. Seven on Tuesday. Fourteen on Wednesday. Five on Thursday. Two on Friday. Day after day. Week after week. Month after month.
India's death toll from terrorism mounted as the snow fell and melted in Cambridge, and that New England winter turned to spring. And I became more and more angry. Innocent human beings murdered as a systemic instrument of twisted political purpose. Terror against India that rose and fell with the seasons, year after year after year.
By the time that I left the United States for India in the summer of 2001, this very personal death count that I was keeping had reached hundreds. And, for me, these were not abstract and antiseptic numbers in a newspaper story. Each death, I forced myself to remember, was a single person -- an individual man, woman, child -- with family, loved ones, friends. They each have a name. Just like us, they each had a life to lead. These are our mothers, our fathers, our brothers, our sisters, our babies, and our friends. Each had laughs to laugh. Tears to shed. Loves to love. Meals to eat. Accomplishments to record. Setbacks to overcome. Places to go. Things to do. Prayers to offer. All snuffed out by the killing hand of terror. On September 11 in America. Nearly every day in India.
No respectable religion could excuse these merciless acts. No moral framework could sanction these abominations. No political cause could justify these murders of innocents. And yet, they go on. “

We request the administration and members of FAS at Harvard to invite Dr. Swamy for an open dialogue on this matter so that we will be pulled away from drenched darkness.

As mentioned before, we will make necessary travel arrangements to have an open dialogue at a mutually agreeable time. Hope to hear for my third request.
