6) Attended Hirikatha Sapthaha Mahothsavam in Visakhapatnam.

Dr. Ghazal Srinivas attended as Chief Guest "Hirikatha Sapthaha Mahothsavam" at Visakhapatnam on September 1, 2012. He spoke about our SaveTemples mission as well as temples and its value in this event. Enclosing herewith are some of the news clippings and photographs of this event.  Andhra Jyothy, Eenadu and Sakshi have given wide coverage of the speech given by Ghazal on the importance of preserving the Hindu culture. He passionately spoke about the negligence of Hindus and how their indifference may lead to the dwindling of Hindu population.

He pointed out that Temple should be the locus of all the activities in the villages. Temples play vital role in shaping the entire society with certain values.  Who ever spends more time in the Temple during their childhood, they will serve the society better.  At this juncture, he sang the most popular song entitled “Gudi Edi” Where is the Temple that I grew up and what happened. Why is it in ruins?

The followers of all other major religions contribute 5-10 percent of their earnings for the propagation and preservation of their religion. It is only through our contributions we can expand and propagate our culture. Every body should work as Sevadala (Volunteer group) members for their Temples and their rich heritage.  Due to the ignorance of the richness of our samskriti we are limping instead of standing tall with pride.
